Buddy Shelton, Professional Golfer / Entertainer / Speaker
After graduating from Carlisle Military School, Buddy received a Congressional appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. Enjoying his high school and college golf so much, Buddy left the Academy and Air Force and took his physics degree and flying talents to the Golf Course to become a PGA Golf Professional and Tour Player.
While on the tournament circuits as well as being a teaching professional, Buddy discovered his ability to hit almost anything with a head on it from any position. That with being blessed with a very humorous side to his personality, he then ventured into the entertainment business carrying a golf bag with whatever.
Over the last 40 years, he has endeared galleries and has become legendary as a golf trick shot artist, traveling the world entertaining at civic, corporate, charity, church and PGA Tour Events. He kept a tight schedule with 80+ events per year.
Still a talented player, Buddy continues to play tournaments as he played the Celebrity Golf Tour for 10+ years as well as Pro-Am events worldwide. His last big win was the Austrian Open Pro Am in 2009. Also, he is always up to meet challenges from friends.
Because of his strong Faith and desire to help others, he takes every opportunity to show not just how to play better golf but how to bring joy and laughter into their lives.
Buddy's talents extend into his personal time as well. He shares his golf knowledge as a humorist and speaker by making appearances on television and radio shows. He has also been a columnist, still teaching and even designed a golf club, the revolutionary rolled faced putter, "The Redeemer".
When it is time to really unwind, you will find Buddy driving one of his classic cars. He still thinks about getting back on the road tracks and drag strips as that was quite a favorite pastime. The backroads of Florida are still a temptation.
